Understand The Workspace And Palettes

Undo and Navigation Steps
Two ways of undoing steps are from the top menu, Edit then Step Backwards.
Alternatively, click a previous snapshot in the History Palette.

Navigate (zoom in and pan) your image using the Navigator Palette,or the Zoom Tool.

Activate The Hand Tool by tapping the Spacebar, keeping the Spacebar pressed, pan your image in the usual way.

Open your choice of Start Image onto Photoshop’s workspace.

Then from the Toolbar, activate the Move Tool .

And then left-click and drag either the Lips or the Face onto the Heart. (Then to save PC resources, close the original Lips and Face images).

If necessary, activate the Blur Tool.

And with a Strength of around 6, gently blur the jagged areas of the lower lip. Then, from the top menu, choose Layers then choose Merge Visible.

Now, right-click the image (in the Layers Palette). And from the subsequent drop-down menu, choose Duplicate Layer. Click OK to the subsequent Duplicate Layer dialogue box. Repeat this twice and you will have four identical Heart Layers in the Layers Palette.

Then, leaving the original image at the bottom of the Layers Palette untouched: left-click to highlight the first copy, as illustrated below.

And from the top menu, choose Edit then choose Transform then choose Scale. From the following Options Bar, first clear the numerical values already there, then type 95 into both the Width and Height boxes, as illustrated below.

Then click the following Commit transform tick.

Or press Enter/Return.

Now, activate the second copy - as illustrated below.

And change the Scale’s Height and Width settings to 90 - then tap your Enter/Return Key.

Then activate the third copy - as illustrated below.

And then change the Scale’s Height and Width settings to 85 - then tap your Enter/Return Key.

After you have completed the re-scaling, your hearts will appear to be stacked on top of each other, as illustrated below.

Congratulations, your four-layered image is ready to save as a Transparent Gif, and to animate:
